Port O’Connor area and Espiritu Santo Bay
Redfish have been good on Spanish Sardines along grass shorelines in the back lakes. Trout have begun to hit freelined live Croaker along reef drop-offs as long as the tide is moving. Black Drum are good using shrimp olong the sandy bottom shorelines in the shallow back bays when the tide is up enough to get to them. Be careful out on the water and keep a close watch on weather changes as thunderstorms can develop quickly.

The Redfish bite has slowed, a bit due to recent high-pressure systems that were situated over the area and the massive amount of rainfall that fell in the coastal bend area this last week. There have still been a few nice fish caught but it has taken a lot of moving to find hungry fish. The trout bite has slowed a little also for the same reasons. As the high-pressure systems move off and more favorable weather conditions grace us, we will soon be getting back to catching Trout & Reds in good numbers using summer patterns.
